Institutional Goals

- Bring each student's skill to the highest possible level.

- Provide access for educational opportunities.

- Promote student engagement in activities that enhance learning.

- Create opportunities for personal development, growth, leadership and civic responsibility.

Excessive physical strength is not required to become a successful farrier. However, a student must understand the physical demands necessary to learn and perform the proper techniques of trimming and shoeing a horse. In fact, proper fitness and the ability to work with hand tools are necessary components for any student to be successful throughout the rigorous curriculum at Prairie Farrier School.

We do not pander to snowflakes...this job is not easy, you really have to want it.
